OFFICER UNIFORMS The
original Lehrren Navy uniforms were designed by LT Eric Donaldson
of the USS TITANIA as a gift and a sign of unity for the Lehrren people;
before, they had been wearing the rag-tag remnants of century-old Star Fleet
uniforms. They incorporated the gold-and-silver crest of the Lehrren
Alliance on the left breast, and the traditional Lehrren military colors
denoting department: midnight blue for command, purple for engineering, maroon
for tactical, and green for medical. The rank pips were Star Fleet issue
(as that was the only pattern the replicator had when the uniforms were created),
and therefore followed the same rank scale as Star Fleet.
Today, the Lehrren naval uniform has evolved, just as its Star
Fleet counterparts have. Gone is the department colored jacket, replaced
instead by a more formal black jacket. This jacket fastens over a
turtleneck that bears the officer's department color, and is trimmed in silver.
Each sleeve contains a single stripe the department color, piped in silver.
The pant legs now have two stripes- one in silver, and one in the department
color. Flag officer uniforms are nearly identical, save for the gold
piping around the top of the turtleneck collar and gold piping replacing the
silver trim around the sleeve stripe. The pant legs of a Flag Officer
feature a single gold stripe trimmed in silver.
OFFICER RANK INSIGNIA
Lehrren rank insignia has also undergone subtle changes since LT
Donaldson's designs. Gone are the Star Fleet-issue round pips; they have
now been replaced by diamond-shaped pips. They do, however, follow the
same pattern as Star Fleet insignia do- thus Star Fleet's early influence on
their uniform is evident, but it is no longer a spot-on copy. This insignia can be found on the
front of the collar, just to the left of the throat, and on each sleeve, just
above the stripe.
